Emily Pakulski (Vocals & Guitar)
Emily began experimenting with a nylon string guitar at age 12. After tackling some of the basics, she acquired her first electric guitar. Roughly a year and a half after beginning guitar, Power Pirate formed. Emily had some experience with singing, and therefore became the band's vocalist, as well as guitarist. Emily plays a B.C. Rich NJ Classic Series "Bich" guitar live and is currently endorsed by
B.C. Rich Guitars.
Emily is 15 years old and is a high school sophomore in Washington, DC.
Michael Garate (Keyboards)
Michael took classical and jazz piano lessons from Kindergarten through 5th grade with the Levine School of Music, later taking Studio Recording and Music Theory classes. After several years of structured lesson plans and practice schedules, he dropped lessons and began to teach himself. In his freshman year of high school, he jammed with Emily and Annika, eventually forming Power Pirate. He draws from a range of musical genres to influence his playing style, including electronic, jazz, and experimental psy-trance.
Mike is 17 years old and attends high school as a junior in Bethesda, MD.
Annika Monari (Drums)
When Annika was 12, Emily recommended that she play the bass so that the two of them could collaborate. Once she got her instrument, the two of them worked diligently together, eventually joining separate bands. The two wanted to start a band of their own, however, and recognized the need for a drummer. At the age of 14, Annika began teaching herself drums, eventually developing the skill to keep Power Pirate in rhythm.
Annika is 16 years old and attends high school as a sophomore in Washington, DC.
